About Read-a-Thon
The Reading Quest Read-a-Thon is a fun and engaging event that aims to encourage readers of all levels while helping to support Reading Quest’s critical programs. Reading Quest provides free, professional literacy tutoring and social emotional support for over 400 underserved students each week using data-driven strategies based on the science of reading.
We believe that learning how to read well is a human right and that closing the education gap between low and high income students is a powerful tool in combating inequity and poverty.

How it works
- The Reading Quest's Read-a-Thon is open to all readers everywhere!
- Participants may set their own reading and fundraising goals, and assistance with goal-setting is available for those who need it.
- Progress is tracked and reported to Reading Quest in terms of reading minutes. Readers can also solicit sponsorships from family and friends, with all proceeds supporting Reading Quest’s critical programs.
- The Read-a-Thon runs from March 16th to March 31st, 2024!
Step 1
Sign Up and Share Your Reader Page
Sign up, set up and share your reader page with family and friends! We'll even help you set it up if you need a hand. After signing up for your account, you can create your team and invite your team members. Then share your reader page with your friends and family so they can cheer you on!
Step 2
Keep Track of Your Journey
Every time you read, keep track of your reading minutes. You can report them in your reader hub whenever you finish reading, at the end of the day or at the end of the reading period - it's totally up to you!
Step 3
Reach the Finish Line
The teams and individuals who raise the most money and/or read the most minutes will be awarded special prizes. All participants will be eligible for a variety of raffle prizes, to be awarded at the end of the Read-a-Thon. Keep reading and dreaming big, because anything is possible! Who knows, you might win a grand prize!
